Hey all,

I'm sure there are some other designers on here and I was wondering if anyone had any tips regarding colors or layouts?
I seem to remember someone on here saying that they were able to tell exactly what color something was if they were given the RGB values; how easy is this to learn? Are you able to compare RGB values to get a sence of if 2 colors will look good together? I know that you will only be able to tell how simular 2 colors are, but does this work in practice?

I can tell ruffly where abouts things are on pages if I look at the html or CSS, but I'm just not that good at making attractive layouts myself. For example, what sort of margins would I be looking at for a simple navbar down the left with the rest of the page containing the content? I know this would be a bit of a basic site, I just mentioned it as an example of what I want to know.

In general, I thought it might be a good idea to make a topic where people could post tips / questions like mine.

As always, any pointers / thoughts will be great.

Cheers,
Ben.
